Channel 9 Live has showcased the key highlights of our press meet held on 12th december 2023 at Puttur Press Club, introducing the transformative initiative Kalpavikasa Yojana, a yojana designed for farmers to increase value addition and productivity of coconut tree. The initiative addresses the challenges faced by coconut farmers in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts, offering solutions for fair compensation and the revival of unproductive coconut trees.
Kalpavikasa Yojana aims to provide farmers with essential agricultural knowledge, coconut saplings, and fertilizers, focusing on the regeneration of coconut crops. The yojana involves the purchase of eligible non-productive coconut trees, and the farmers can get maximum compensation of ₹ 2,000 for their unproductive and naturally damaged trees.
